Tide
Tide is one of the UK’s leading digital business banking platforms, offering modern financial services tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises. Their mobile-first approach streamlines everything from account creation to invoicing and expense tracking.
I joined Tide on a short-term contract to support the UX redesign of the Web App, focusing on improving the structure and usability of key workflows. My work primarily centred around in-app notifications, onboarding, and a broader rethinking of the web experience to better align it with the mobile-first product strategy.
Mobile App – In-App Notifications (UX & UI)
I was tasked with designing a set of bespoke, non-intrusive in-app notifications. These needed to be effective without disrupting the user’s core tasks — balancing visibility with subtlety.
The goal was to ensure users could quickly understand what action was being prompted, without creating friction or notification fatigue. The final design offered a flexible pattern that could accommodate different message types (e.g. alerts, prompts, tips) across both platforms
Web App – UX design
I worked on the initial design of the Tide Web App, helping define the core user flows and layout to deliver a clear, task-focused experience for desktop users.
Login Screen – UI Design
I also worked on a visual refresh of the login screen, applying Tide’s brand guidelines to improve the overall look and feel, and bring the web login experience in line with the mobile app.
